The History of Stampone Law: From Humble Beginnings to Formidable Law Firm Handling Accident, Injury, Malpractice and Other Business Matters
There were already many law firms in Philadelphia when Joseph Stampone and Drew D’Angelo founded Stampone Law in 1983. But Joe and Drew had a vision: they wanted to represent Northeast Philadelphia residents in accident, injury, malpractice and other civil lawsuits. Having grown up in Northeast Philadelphia, both Joe and Drew had strong ties to the community and wanted to help those in need of legal services. Then called Stampone & D’Angelo, the fledgling law firm saw its first significant victory when Joe and Drew represented the family of one of Joe’s childhood friends. Joe’s friend, an ironworker, tragically fell to his death while rebuilding the Platt Memorial Bridge. With their success on behalf of friends in need, Joe and Drew knew they had chosen the right path.
The firm grew quickly as satisfied clients recommended Joe and Drew to their families and friends. With the addition of numerous talented lawyers and staff members, the firm found itself in need of new office space as the 1990s drew to a close. In 2004, Stampone Law moved to 500 Cottman Avenue in Cheltenham, Pa. The new location was a labor of love, as the building was scheduled for demolition before the firm acquired it. But the firm’s principals recognized the building’s potential and welcomed the opportunity to preserve a part of the neighborhood’s history. Today Stampone Law continues to grow, and its members – attorneys and staff alike – are proud of the welcoming environment and reputation for hard-fought litigation and zealous representation of its individual and business clients.
